Office of Institutional Research

We provide and coordinate information and research support for an array of reporting, decision-making, and assessment activities to help fulfill the stated mission and goals of Saint Michael’s College. We also maintain the Saint Michael’s College Factbook and assist in collection and conveyance of data and information to the College community as well as to many external constituencies.

Common Data Set

Saint Michael’s College subscribes to The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative – a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers with the goal of improving the quality and accuracy of important college information provided to the public.

The Common Data Set provides college data for the most recent academic year. Data items and definitions used by the U.S. Department of Education in its higher education surveys often serve as a guide in providing this information. Data categories include: enrollment and persistence, admissions, academic offerings and policies, student life, annual expenses and financial aid, instructional faculty, class size and degrees conferred.
